​1. General Studies (सामान्य अध्ययन)

​This section evaluates the candidate's environmental awareness, regular day-to-day scientific observation, and administrative awareness.

• ​Current Affairs: Scientific advancements, national/international awards, Indian languages, books, scripts, capitals, currency, sports/athletes, and major global events.

• ​India and its Neighboring Countries: History of neighboring nations, Indian history, culture, geography, economic landscape, and the Indian freedom struggle.

• ​Polity & Administration: Indian Constitution, country's political system, Panchayati Raj institutions, community development programs, and Five-Year Plans.

• ​Bihar's Contribution: The role of Bihar in the national freedom movement, geographic profile, and regional economic policies.

​2. General Science & Mathematics

​The difficulty level for standard science and basic numerical capability is designed around the Matriculation (10th standard) level.

• ​General Science: Basic concepts and everyday applications of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Geography.

• ​Mathematics: ​Number System and calculation of whole numbers. ​Decimals, fractions, and relationships between numbers. Basic arithmetic operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion. Averages, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss.

​3. Statistics (सांख्यिकी)

​Since this is a specialized post for Statistical Officers, a core portion of the evaluation focnuses on fundamental statistical concepts:

​Data collection, classification, and tabulation. ​Measures of Central Tendency (Mean, Median, Mode).

​Measures of Dispersion (Standard Deviation, Variance, Mean Deviation).

​Sampling methods, probability distributions, index numbers, and time-series analysis.

​4. Mental Ability Test (Reasoning)

​Both verbal and non-verbal reasoning topics are tested to assess analytical and intellectual ability:

​Analogies, similarities, and differences. Spatial visualization and spatial orientation.

​Problem-solving, analysis, and judgment, ​Visual memory, observation, and relationship concepts (Blood Relations). ​Arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification. Arithmetical number series, coding, and decoding.
