Recruitment Process:

Selection will be made on the basis of written examination, physical test, and interview.
Note: Physical test will be only of qualifying nature.

(A) Written Examination:

(i) Applications will be scrutinized on the basis of information provided in the submitted application forms, and a competitive examination will be organized for those candidates whose application forms are found complete. The written examination will consist of two parts: preliminary examination and main examination. All questions in the written examination will be multiple-choice.

(ii) First Stage: Preliminary Examination - The preliminary examination will be a paper of 200 marks, with a total of 100 questions and an examination duration of 2 (two) hours. In this paper, questions will be asked related to General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Candidates who secure less than 30 percent marks will be declared unsuccessful for the main examination. Based on the marks obtained in the preliminary examination, successful candidates will be selected for 20 (twenty) times the number of vacancies according to merit and reservation quota for the main examination. The required number of eligible candidates for the main examination may be reduced if the ratio of attendance is less than appropriate.

(iii) Second Stage: Main Examination - The main examination will be conducted to assess the ability of successful candidates from the preliminary examination. The main examination will have two papers.

(a) First Paper: This will be a paper of General Hindi of 200 marks with 100 questions, and the examination duration will be 2 (two) hours. It is mandatory to obtain a minimum of 30 percent marks, otherwise, they will be declared ineligible. The marks obtained in the General Hindi paper will not be included in the merit determination.

(b) Second Paper: This paper will be related to General Studies, Indian Geography, Science, Indian History, Mathematics, and Mental Ability. The second paper will have a total of 200 marks with 100 questions, and the examination duration will be 2 (two) hours.

(iv) Negative Marking: For each incorrect answer in both stages of the examination, 0.2 marks will be deducted. The answer sheet will be in two copies, one of which will be kept safe by the examination body. 

Selection for 6 (six) times the number of vacancies will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in the main written examination and according to the reservation quota for the physical test. Candidates will only need to pass the physical test. In case of insufficient eligible candidates for the physical test, the ratio may be reduced.

(B) Physical Test:
(i) Candidates selected on the basis of the main written examination will be invited for the physical test. The physical test will be conducted according to the Bihar Transport (Enforcement Branch) Cadre Rules, 2003. The details of the physical test are as follows:

(i) For Males:
* 25 (twenty-five) kilometer walk to be completed within a maximum time limit of 4 hours.
* Candidates taking more time will be declared unsuccessful.

(ii) For Females:
* 14 (fourteen) kilometer walk to be completed within a maximum time limit of 4 hours.
* Candidates taking more time will be declared unsuccessful.

Note: If any candidate fails the physical test, they will not be considered eligible for appointment based solely on the marks obtained in the written examination.

(C) Interview:
Candidates who obtain qualifying marks in the written examination and physical test will be invited for an interview. The interview will assess their personality, knowledge of current events, general awareness, communication skills, and their suitability for working in the Enforcement Branch of the Transport Department.

The interview will be of a total of 30 marks. The marks obtained in the interview will be added to the marks of the written examination, and the final merit list will be prepared based on the total sum.

• Pay Scale:- Rs. 35,400 - 1,12,400/-  (Level-6)

• Selection Process: Selection will be based on the Pre Examination,  Mains Exam, PET/ PST & Interview.
